Fabbrica Dell’Aria: a scientific experiment
Fabbrica dell’Aria project realised by Pnat Project Nature – the biophilic design studio bringing together scientists and architects, founded by plant neurobiologist Stefano Mancuso - reveals the incredible capabilities of plants in purifying indoor environments thanks to a plant bio-filtration system.
At the center of the pavilion built with Ottagono’s technology is a biophilic design device that combines technical innovation and plant intelligence to enhance people's well-being. The bio-filtration system demonstrates in real time the ability of plants to break down indoor pollutants, offering a revolutionary vision of design.
Ottagono: the architecture that integrates nature
Ottagono contributed to the realization of this innovative project with its expertise in intelligent design and the application of cold-formed steel for modular design architectures that are lightweight, versatile and fully sustainable.
For Fabbrica dell’Aria pavilion, Ottagono created a load-bearing octagonal structure built with drywall elements: a lightweight, demountable and recyclable base that allowed for quick, precise assembly without waste of materials. A flexible and reversible solution that marries biophilic design to enhance people's well-being.
